Mohon is a very typical Breton village with a huge church at its centre and some interesting old houses. It has basic shopping amenities including a mini market, baker's, a friendly bar, which serves lunchtime meals, post office, a hairdresser's, and a bank with ATM.
Just outside of Mohon itself you will find the Camp de Rouets, and interesting relic from medieval times. There are information plaques telling the history of this site. The impressive moats are still visible. During the summer there are children's activities on a Thursday afternoon run by local guides dressed in Medieval costumes.
Two major events that take place in the village are the Foire St Marc in mid April, which is an popular agricultural show, and the Autumn Brocante which takes place on the first Sunday in September, where the streets are lined with around 200 stalls selling bric-a brac, antiques, and even some genuine junk! There are mussels and chips, crepes and galettes, and sometimes even bacon sandwiches!
Mohon is an excellent base to explore the treasures of Brittany, both coastal and countryside.
There is no light pollution here, so on a clear night, the stars will amaze you!
